Vinita Nair
In July 2004 Nair joined ABC News and was able to cover a range of news stories, including the investigation into the murder of Jon Benet Ramsey and the shootings that occurred in Bailey, Colorado. Nair began working for ABC News as an anchor/correspondent for ABC News Now in December 2007. For her work as a correspondent, Nair provided live reporting as well as briefings for ABC's network. Nair was the co-anchor for World News Now and America This Morning on ABC beginning on September 17, 2008 through February 18, 2011. In both programs, Nair worked initially in partnership with Jeremy Hubbard. Later she co-anchored the show with Rob Nelson. On the 17th of February 2011 Nair announced that Friday, February 18, would be her final broadcast night on World News Now. The day she would leave ABC News would be Friday on February 18. Former KDVR Denver anchor Peggy Bunker was her direct successor. The issue of February 18 on World News Now paid tribute to Nair during each of its three segments. The show also included appearances by former and current colleagues like Jeremy Hubbard. The crew was treated to an excellent breakfast during her last day.
