Anne W. Burrell, an American television chef and former Institute of Culinary Education instructor, is a TV personality. Burrell hosts Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network and the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell's Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant chef and her distinctive spiky blond locks and pumped up appearance, offers simple techniques that anyone can master. Chef Burrell has worked at New York at top restaurants and studied the Italian culinary traditions and geography. Also, she was a contestant on Iron Chef America on Food Network. Burrell, who grew up in New York State's Upstate, discovered a love of cooking. The Culinary Institute of America was the next stage for her when she earned an Associate of Arts degree in English and Communication at Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America was an amazing opportunity for me. I couldn't be more educated or accomplished in my studies. Following graduation, Burrell spent one year learning at the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners as well as working at Umbria's La Taverna del Lupo as well as Tuscany's La Bottega del 30, which is a Michelin-starred establishment. During her time in Italy she came to comprehend and appreciate the philosophies behind Italian food and culture that made a lasting impression in her point of view. Burrell was the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board participant, with the goal of to improve the lives of kids who are facing difficulties. Burrell also serves as a Juvenile Disease Research Foundation's celebrity ambassador and advocates awareness of children's diabetes.
